St. John's Cathedral

Maitland’s devout Catholic parishioners have written to Sydney Archbishop Cardinal George Pell for his intervention to restore their beloved Old St John’s Cathedral, Maitland. Mass came to an end at the heritage-listed cathedral last January when the church was condemned as unsafe, but school students still use classrooms on the second storey of the building... There are fears the cathedral will be forgotten and never again be used for church services, the first of which was held there in 1846.
