Walking history tour brings back memories

Almost 55 years since the city’s biggest disaster, the history of flooding in Maitland continues to stir memories and capture the imaginations of a younger generation. A capacity audience relived the rushing floodwaters that inundated central Maitland periodically during the past 150 years as part of the second instalment of the Hunter-Central Rivers Catchment Management Authority (CMA) Walk and Talk flood tour on Sunday. Amateur historian and Horseshoe Bend resident Peter Bogan led two tours along the riverbank, down Cathedral Street and into High Street.
