River’s stories to be documented

From the Maitland Mercury report:
The launch of Maitland City Library’s Hunter River Oral History Project was held on the eve of the 56th anniversary of the Maitland Flood on Friday, with an invitation to anyone with a story to tell about the river to be part of it.

City Librarian Keryl Collard said the project would preserve individual and community experiences of floods and examine how the river had influenced activities in the city. The stories will be recorded and added to the library’s local history collection.
